Outreach and Mission The community of St. Michael’s reaches out to individuals and groups close to home and around the world. Through the parish Mission and Outreach Committee, St. Michaelites get opportunities for hands-on involvement in outreach efforts and also to make donations of food, household items and money to worthy programs.
In the Local Community Close to home, St. Michael's provides financial and hands-on assistance to many local groups, including AFAC, A-SPAN, APAH, Doorways, Rebuilding Together, the Reading Connection, Meals on Wheels, and the Salvation Army Christmas Angel Tree. Learn more
Around the World St. Michael's sponsors, through ChildFund International, five children in the US, Honduras, Brazil, Indonesia and the Philippines; supports a family involved in an aviation mission in Haiti; and helps development projects such as solar cookers for refugee families in Africa. Episcopal Church Missions Our financial commitment to the Diocese of Virginia supports mission programs in the US and overseas. We also contribute to Episcopal Relief and Development, the international relief agency of The Episcopal Church in the US, to help alleviate poverty and support disaster recovery. Learn more
